Being Me: Through the Eyes of Youth in Foster Care
Spring 2004
The program secured a small seed grant to fund this residency with ten foster youth from all over the Maricopa Valley. Court approval was obtained and participants met for 8 weeks on the ASU campus creating a 28 minute digital story on DVD. The residency functioned as a lab to build organizational relationships, to model the project in miniature, to discover and negotiate obstacles, and to explore evaluation processes and procedures. “Being Me” has been shown across Arizona on cable television, state-wide youth worker training programs and conferences, and at the Arizona Supreme Court Children and Youth Services.
