- Performing arts give voice to the often voiceless
- Children and youth are community assets not liabilities
Place: Vision & Voice examines:
- Identity and self-concept
- The connections between self and society
- How young people explore and express a vision) their own distinctiveness (voice) as situated within community (place)
How Place: Vision & Voice works:
- Participants and collaborating artists create and edit multi-media performance collages.
- The artwork incorporates music, graphics, video, creative movement, creative writing and scripted presentation.
- The pieces are brought back into the community to spark democratic dialogue, youth feedback on critical issues and candid conversations.
