Final Essay
Your Final Essay should demonstrate your ability to:
· Explain your preference for an artwork.
· Explain your judgment of an artwork.
· Analyze the proportions and profile of a ceramic vessel,
using traditional ceramic terms.
· Analyze the structure of a pattern.
· Propose and support an interpretation of the expressiveness
of an artwork.
· Write a well-organized essay focused on an artwork. |
Review the three journal assignments you have written about the patterned
vessel you chose to investigate. Determine what information is most important
to include in your Final Essay and whether any important information is
lacking. Reflect further on your response to the patterned vessel you’ve
been investigating. Seek additional information as necessary.
Imagine that you are writing your essay for a friend who has never seen
the vessel. What does she/he need to know or see first to begin to understand
it? How can you organize the information you’ve assembled, together
with your own thoughts, to best help your reader appreciate the vessel?
What thoughts do you want to leave your readers with as you conclude your
essay?
