My Celebration Vessel and Artist Statement
Your Celebration Vessel and Artist Statement should
demonstrate your ability to:
· Consider what you prefer in your own artwork.
· Apply criteria to judge your own artwork.
· Plan and produce proportions, a profile, and/or a pattern
that celebrate an event or situation.

Complete your Celebration Vessel.
Prepare an Artist Statement to exhibit with your vessel. You may want
to review your journal assignments from lessons one, two, and three to
help you think about what you want toinclude in your artist statement.
Include the following headings:
1. Name
2. Title
3. Event or Situation Celebrated
4. My Preference
5. My Judgment
Checklist
1. My vessel is decorated with a regular pattern.
2. My vessel relates to an event or situation I want to celebrate.
3. My Art Statement includes my name, title of work, and event or situation
to be celebrated.
4. I identified something that I like about my vessel and explained why.
5. I identified at least two criteria (one technical and one expressive)
that I think are appropriate to judge the success of my work.
6. I explained how well I did or did not meet each of the criteria I selected.
