SHAKESPEARE  shakespeare

Students are often exposed to Shakespeare for the first time during their secondary education.  Usually they respond negatively due to the unfamiliarity of the language and the lack of consideration of most English departments regarding the performance aspects.  Shakespeare is meant to be performed and this unit will allow students to appreciate the beauty of Shakespeare’s work on the stage, not just the page.  After working with Shakespeare in this manner, students will be better equipped to study the Bard in other courses.
