Theatre Education: A Resource of Practical and Project-Based Warm-ups/Theatre Games for K-12

Trust Circle Fall
Text Box: Skills L ?? I[
Where we learned it: Acting class in high school
Ages: 6th grade and up
Materials: None

Process:

    • Left Arrow Callout: ® _ ¸ Have the students get into a circle, or depending on size, 2 circles.  The circles need to be the right size so that they can support someone standing in the middle.
    • One student stands in the middle of the circle, crosses her arms over her chest, closes her eyes and then falls with her legs and waist staying straight.
    • The students in the circle always stand with their hands in front of them ready to support the person in the middle and pass her around or back and forth in the circle.
    • This exercise needs to be gentle and somewhat slow so as to build the trust necessary.
    • Continue until all students who want to be in the middle have had a turn.
