Theatre Education: A Resource of Practical and Project-Based Warm-ups/Theatre Games for K-12
Story Circle
Where we learned it: Acting class in high school
Ages: Kindergarten and up
Materials: None
Process:
- Have everyone sit in a circle.
- Have one person start by saying the first sentence in a story.
- The person next to them will add the second sentence.
- The person next to them will add the third sentence.
- Continue around the circle adding to the story one sentence at a time until the story comes to an end.
- The purpose is to listen and work together to create a story that makes sense.
Variations:
- Each person can only say one word at a time.
- Each person must start her sentence with a particular letter of the alphabet (e.g., the first person starts with A, the second person with B, etc).
