The Theatre Book Drama and Theatre

drama is the script, the written play. Drama is also a word
used to describe everything about plays and putting them on.

theatre – the building where you see a play or a movie.
Theatre also means plays and their performances.

theater – another way to spell theater

Shakespeare – an English playwright who lived 400 years
ago. His plays are still done today, all over the world. He is the most famous playwright in the world. Most everyone knows his heroes like Hamlet and Romeo and his heroines like Juliet and Desdemona. We also know his villains: Macbeth and Iago. He wrote in both verse and prose.
