East Valley Children’s Theatre

Mission Statement:
The mission of the East Valley Children's Theatre is to provide the youth of the East Valley with the opportunity to participate in community-based quality theatre events for the purpose of developing and enhancing confidence, individual creativity and self esteem. We are dedicated to the development of performers, crews and audiences.

School age children and adolescents age 8-18 are invited to audition for every show. Auditions are conducted by highly qualified production teams that vary from show to show. No previous experience is required for children to audition and no advance preparation is needed.

Classification:
Non-profit

Appropriate Grade Level:
For programs and participation, ages 5-18 (classes 5-18, productions 8-18), as audience members for our productions we recommend for age 3 and up.

Programs/Performances:
Saturday workshops with two workshops per day throughout the year.
Weekly Classes (six weeks long once a week for an hour or hour and a half.  Four times a year. 
EVCT Express performance troupe, by audition in August and January, meets once a week and creates a performance piece that is performed in the East Valley.
Intergenerational Theatre Program pairs teens with senior citizens for interviews, creating plays and performing them in the retirement community. 
Productions three times a year, fully-staged performances at the Mesa Arts Center.  Youth act and perform technical work for the shows.
Playwriting Contest open to anyone who is interested in writing plays for children.  Winning play is performed as a part of EVCT’s season.  

Costs:
No cost to be in a production. Cost of tickets to come watch our productions are $11.00 per person. Workshops $25 each or $35 for two on the same day. Cost for participation in EVCT Express and Intergenerational Theatre program is $95 for four months of classes and performances includes cost of performance shirt.  Classes are $60 for a class that meets one hour a week, $90 for a class that meets an hour and a half a week, and $110 for two hours of class each week.
