Phoenix Art Museum

Mission Statement: The mission of phoenix art museum is to educate and expose the broadest possible segment of our population to the historical and aesthetic attributes of the visual arts.  This process should not only be enlightening, but should be entertaining and stimulating.  In order to accomplish this, the museum must strive to excel in the areas of collection, conservation, exhibition, and interpretation of a broad range of visual art.  (Adopted October, 1992)

Programs:
PhxArtKids Days
Children ages 5 and up and their adult companions can explore the Museum together, enjoy a variety of activities or get creative with a hands-on art project.  PhxArtKids is supported by the Museum's Men's Arts Council, APS and US Airways.  Included with Museum general admission.

Teen Seen
Events and activities exclusively for teens only (12-18).  Free or included with Museum general admission.

PhxArtKids
Families have fun and learn in this interactive gallery (formerly the ArtWorks Gallery), full of activities. Visit its companion site in cyberspace on the kid's Web site, www.phxartkids.org.

KidPacks
Children ages 6 to 10 and their adult companions will enjoy exploring the Museum with this child-size backpack full of activity cards, puzzles, looking activities and other creative challenges that correspond to art in the Museum's collection. KidPacks can be checked out for free in the lobby; a limited number of KidPacks are available.

Audioguide for Families
The bilingual MP3 audioguide to the collection, available free of charge at the Admissions Desk, includes audio stops specially designed for children and families, to keep you entertained and informed.
