Creating Arts - Art Making
How do I make color expressive?

Introduction

Art making is the process of learning about art expression, design (composition), techniques, and tools. Painting TECHNIQUE is the art of picture-making to some people, but to professionals, it is the study of color. In this lesson you will experiment with color. Painter's MATERIALS include watercolor, acrylics or oils; but we will explore color through the use of a computer program. Painters' TOOLS include brushes, palatte knives, sponges, airbrushes-anything that will hold and apply paint. In this lesson, your computer mouse will be your tool!

OBJECTIVES:

You will be able to:

  • Experiment with color and symbol to create three art studies that are expressive of your mood, feelings and ideas
  • Experiment with using a computer paint and draw program
  • Write an art criticism paper about your artworks.
