OVERVIEW OF ASSIGNMENTS:

Lesson 1. Art as Inquiry - Art Criticism. Write an Art Criticism Report of one artwork from the suggested Internet websites.

Lesson 2. Art in Context. Interview an artist in your community.

Lesson 3. Creating Art. Make an Expressive Painting of yourself using a computer paint/draw program or a scanned photo of yourself. You will repeat the same drawing/photo three times using first monochromatic, then analogous, and finally complementary colors. You will complete a self evaluation of your work.

Lesson 4. Art as Inquiry - Aesthetics. Find one painting example on the net for each art theory provided and discuss why it is art.
