COMMUNITY HISTORY: OLD TEMPE Examples 1. Photo Description ![]() Hanna and Gallap General Blacksmiths. Tempe Historical Museum Title: The Black Smith’s Family Who: The mother, father (in a suit), their little girl and boy. Another man in a suit. The two men in suits look like they own the shop. Two guys in shirt sleeves and dirty pants who work probably work for them. Where: In front of the blacksmith shop. This has got to be at least 100 years ago. They’re still riding horses, not driving cars. The woman’s dress is long. The men’s suits and hats don’t look modern. What: The daughter just had her horse shod. She’s on it’s back. Her brother has got his hands in his pockets and is trying to look important. I’ll bet he can get into all kinds of mischief, riding the horse! The Mama looks like a real nice lady. I’ll bet the two guys who work in the shop tell lots of jokes. The grins on their faces tell me they could tell good stories.
