Drama can help us understand communities

Communities have stories. These stories make good dramas. The dramas can help us understand the communities.

Drama is like a story

A drama is like a story because they both have

  • Characters - the pretend people who are in the story

  • Settings – a place for things to happen

  • Stories what the characters do. They have a problem that begins, has lots of things happen, and ends when the problem is solved – or not solved!

Communities are like stories and drama

Communities are like stories and dramas because they have

  • Real People that can be like the characters in a story.

  • Geography the place where the people live and the climate and landforms that are a part of that place.

When geographers want to show a bird's eye view or a flat drawing of a place, they draw a map. Maps area good way to figure out where places are.

  • Culture, all the things that
    that people do:
    • the language they speak Hi!

                              Guten Tag!
       Bonjour!
                 Buenos dias

  • the clothes they wear
  • the houses they live in
  • Old Tempe house tempe apartments
    • what they learn and what they believe.

Your school is a community. Your classmates and teachers are part of the community. There are many other communities.
